Really? I must have got confused between Wild World and City Folk. A ton of bugs disappear mid-September, so it was pretty easy to think the Scorpion was one of them.

The hill thing works. I saw it on youtube.

Plus, try to find a hill that when you go up, the cliff leads to water. This is what you do: Find a tarantula or a scorpion. run up the hill with ur net. the the tarantula/scorpion should follow from the bottom. walk near the water. if you get close enough,it will plop into the water. take a picture, its amusing. you can find a video on youtube. and i have done it before, its hilarious!

A good tip to catch a bee is to put ALL your tools except for the net in letters so you can just press one D-pad button to easily whip out your net. I did this and caught a bee on my first try.

First thing Nicholas7, is the scorpion only comes July-September 7p.m.-4a.m.

Second thing I heard that when running from bees,run North then use the D-pad then swing with perfect timing.

How many bees appear per day?
4? 5?

I usually catch 4, but I can't seem to find the other one most of the time and yet I could have sworn there was usually five? Am I just thinking of one of the other AC games?

Bees can't turn as fast as the character either, I've noticed this when I was running away from them. I started running in circles around a rock. They never caught up to me until I stopped to get out my net

Everytime i see one of those beasts, my heart races like crazy and i even yelp a bit in surprise as i automaticly bring out my net and start to run away as they turn around and start to chase me.  

however...

I could never catch one, the tarantula and scorpion are so hard to catch and no matter how hard i tried to get the wall in between the bug and i, i always fail... But then, i learned something else that helps other than walls.

You can actually use the bus stop ledge if you have ACCF... i used it to catch the tarantula (after i unfroze from my state of fear)  and there i had it :]  a perfectly caught tarantula... Too bad i never caught both of them... yet..

Hey guys, not to be rude or anything but WE GET IT.  The cliff method works.  We've all seen the video proof posted on like page 3 or 4 (or one of those lower numbers.)
I'm reading through and this board to get it to stop telling me I have "new flagged threads" and like every other post is "The cliff method DOES WORK!"  And stuff like that.  I love you guys but seriously?  The video proof was all that we required to understand that it worked.  We don't really need 76,543,899 people repeating it.

Sorry if I sound rude but...after reading "the cliff method works!" all those times I'm just kinda exasperated.

In other news, my first night on AC:WW I was jumped by a tarantula.  I was so freaked out, I was like DUDE WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?

Then I got on the internet and looked it up....all was explained.

I'd thought I'd died at first.

As for City Folk, I have yet to catch either.  I don't even know if I've ever seen them, because I started the game back in '08 (It was a Christmas Gift.)  I have also never, EVER seen a Petaltail dragonfly.

I need like 6 bugs and 7 fish.  How's that for a three year player?  I know, I fail

If I had a Youtube account, I could record the time when a tarantula fell off the cliff, and tried to get me when I was on the top. It can at me when I was going downhill
A scorpion also tried to get me but I ran to my home and it forgot all about me till I walked to it. I was stung by it

WOOOOOOOOOW! I shook a tree with a bee hive three times. It took me a while but a finally got a bee. (It looks like a hornet to me).

The easiest way I could find the tarantuala and scopion was to know where they can spawn after you leave a building. I kept going in and out of one building and it only took less than 10 minutes for me to spawn 2 tarantuals in the same spot. Then I sneak up and let them come close. I have my net out the whole time too. They'll walk right next to you without stinging you. The cliff method is horrid for me, because the only good spot for attracting them is super steep and they jump over and sting me I caught bees by running in circles, lol (destroyed my grass in the long run tho). And I gave chase to the petailtail in a treeless town, hahaha, caught 5+ that way ^.^

idk about the cliff thing but that does work on the ramp but you have to be very close to the end of the ramp where the wall is extremely short so the net actually hits the floor at the bottom

now,i heard that scorpions and tartrantulas apper more often if u have less trees in your town.

That is somewhat true, toonalinky, as there are less trees for tree bugs to spawn on, meaning ground and air bugs spawn are likely to spawn more. That trick only works if you have less trees than the maximum amount of bug spawns in your town, which is almost impossible to record.

could someone confirm this theory:
for the cliff myth, go down a ramp until the tarantula/scorpion is just barely being blocked by the ramp and walk over to it. DO NOT GO AS FAR AS YOU CAN. you need to leave some room between you and the edge of the ramp. then swing. if it didnt work, change the distance between you and the ramp, or walk further down (lol not too far, or ...DEATH)

Question: Is there any way to stop scorpions/tarantulas coming to your town? I have a horrible memory from last summer in CF where I was running around randomly when I see this giant hairy eight-legged thing walking around...ugh, hate spiders so much. *shudders*

Okay... I finally got a tarantula and a scorpion in one night! It's funny, especially since they both creeped me out for the last two months, and I had given up. Tarantula was up by the entrance so I passed him while he was running away and whipped out my net and ran for the ramp, he chased me and i I got him trying to get up the front side of the ramp! Easy peasy. The scorpion was funny, i was standing on a cliff looking down, whipped out my net and he tried to get up for about ten minutes, i moved slowly to the lower side then got him! I just kept on pushin that button like a maniac!
