Well I've taken all the suggestions so far and modified the wizard a bit and you may all see it in action now.

Here is an example of what is being done with missing turnip prices:

M - 86 / 79
T - 75 / 70
W - ? / 62
T - 58 / 124
F - 110 / 149
S - 174 / 74

The Wednesday am price will be an average of the Tuesday pm and the Wed pm price: (70 + 62) / 2

When there is a full day of missing prices, I have to work a little differently:

M - 86 / 79
T - 75 / 70
W - ? / ?
T - 58 / 124
F - 110 / 149
S - 174 / 74

turns into -->

M - 86 / 79
T - 75 / 70
W - 64 / 58
T - 58 / 124
F - 110 / 149
S - 174 / 74

And if for some reason you miss the Monday morning price -- well, I wish you luck. The wizard will take the Monday evening price (if it exists) and add 3 bells to that. The moral of the story is that no matter what -- get those Monday prices to have a better shot at a profitable week.

Hi Kurt and thanks very much for the tool.
For the moment I did not used it yet really but I hope next week will be my first genuine try, with AC:WW.
I also work in the programming world but I think won't have to give you advices on your algorithm, which looks great already.

On the other hand, regarding the web interface, I miss a link to go back from the result to the form. I know the "back" button do the job, but it would be a bit cleaner.
And speaking about user interface, a little "advanced view" will be great with graphs and examples that would explain, for instance, the different patterns probabilities regarding the provided prices.

Just another word: please, do not force you to improve your tool if it is not funny anymore for you. You already did great!

So, this week I bought 1700 turnips at 95 bells each (161,500 bells)

And today I sold them to Nook at 324 each (550,800) for a net earning of 389,300 bells!

Edit: is it useful for the wizard to get the rest of the values after you got a good price? I mean, will it be useful for it if I input the Friday evening and the Saturday's values?
Or put it in another way: Is it using the values people input all the time?

THANK YOU KURT!   I wasn't sure what to do when the wizard told me yesterday (a Wednesday on my game), to hold my turnips at a price of 215.  I decided to trust it and this morning 646 bells!!!!  215 was the second rise after a constantly decreasing pattern, so I decided to hold for that 3rd rise...with great results!!  Thanks again!!

The stalk market wizard is FANTASTIC!

Thanks to everyone else who warned about the TT negativity on the stalk market as well.  My prices never rose over 200 until I started TTing with the Wii and not the game itself.  

Now I am in the high 300s- mid 400s.

Wizard says turnips are Constantly Decreasing I can see that, but what I want to know is will it carry on going down for the rest of the week?

I have about 30000 invested in my turnips eekkk

There isn't a prediction algorithm possible to see if the constantly decreasing pattern will turn around. Unfortunately, we have to wait until Thursday evening to know for sure.

I understand Kurt, keep your fingers crossed for me, I would hate to have to sell at a loss with so many turnips.

Think I got a bit over excitable with buying because last fri I had a 478 price with no turnips to sell

but I did open my gates and made over 1mill from visitors (didnt charge it was donated)

Last week the wizard came thru.

30,000? 200,000? Lightweights!  I've got about 1 million locked in turnips, but I have the utmost confidence in the Wizard.  

The steady decline is not the norm.  You are likely going to see a small spike coming around Thursday.  Once you add Wednesday's data in, you should know for sure/

Thismorning they are 83 so they are on the way up

The wizard says large spike, small spike and thu will prob be my best sell day, I hope its a large spike

I am now on 102 with a large spike predicted and thu morn is my recommended sell time

I'm gonna try playing the stalk market next week.

I tried the week b4 and it was off (but i missed about 3 or 4 days w/ recording)

Last week i had to re-adjust the time so i didn't want tl take a risk

and this week, i didn't feel like buying any.

eyeguy, u may want to keep an eye on the accf wifi board, there is usually at least 1 good price listing on there by now.

I know how you feel, eyeguy. I am playing a day ahead right now and had a declining week (and don't have wifi hooked up) so per the wizard, I sold them last night for 55 (paid 110 for them and had 1200, so lost 66,000k). I think I have an unlucky town.... Hope yours does better!

I sold on thu morning. I guess the wizzard couldnt predict the 2nd high price. The bad thing is 3 hours later my friend had a price of 456!!!

Does anyone know if I leave a red turnip for more than 6 days will it be worh more than 1600 or is that its limit?

This is the coolest thing I've ever seen someone do for AC, but then, I majored in economics in college.    Kudos to you!  I love when people do awesome things like this and share them so kindly.

denisej - 16,000 is the limit with red turnips.

I had a steadily declining week, so I sold on Thursday evening and lost 42 bells a turnip.  Hoping for a better outcome this week.

A slightly different question: is there any pattern in the way the weeks come?  For example, if you have a steady decline one week is there any way of predicting the following week to be rollercoaster (or whatever), or is it just random?

If there was a pattern for the weeks to come -- I'd be insanely rich. There is a Japanese guide book that gives a percentage chance as to what pattern follows another, but unless there is a 100% chance, I don't think it is very useful.

I think that information was included in a FAQ that Liquefy (or one of the other FAQ writers) produced for GameFaqs. I think the lowest percentages were for a person to get the same type of week as they had in the prior week - but I reserve the right to be wrong.

I think it can be useful as long as you remember that the percentages are probabilities and are probably more accurate than the percentage chances for rain/snow that's given by the TV weatherman.
