Mine appear first at xx : x4, and they only come from 4 spots (2 on the left, 2 on the right). I've gotten up to five in one hour. Got three Nintendo items within an hour today!

ment0gecko: From what I've noticed you won't see a present if you come outside after 4. I know for a fact if you go inside the balloon will disappear. Sadly, it's just gone. So keep that in mind and always carry a slingshot. If you need more room, always keep your letters full so you can put your slingshot in a letter.

i left my house after 4, and while running to nooks, straight from my house on the beach, a balloon appeared simply seconds into the game! i think it is just very unlikely to happen.

oh, and this is weird, but i gridded off my town with patterns to try to make a perfect town, and noticed that balloons only flew over the top of bottom line of the acres. it could have been a fluke, but it happened 5 balloons in a row.

Sadly I can no longer edit my first post, but xx: x5 is accurate enough. It still gives you quite a while to find a present. I have actually found the easiest way to find a present is if you go to the middle of town at xx: x8 and just run up and down. You might not see the present but you'll hear it. If you hear nothing, there's no present. You can always bet it will be in the middle on the 8.

I agreed earlier in the post that it spawns at 4 but I found you can't actually shoot it until 5 because it's over the mountain area. Unfortunately I cannot edit my initial post for this to say that.

So far theres only one flaw with carrying this out- the fact that I am HORIBLE at reading analog clocks. But I can figure out fives quickly . Great guide, I just hope you figure out patterns for hours and locations, but Im sure if there's any set pattern, you'll have it figured out soon!

The Mario items sequence seems quite random, as I’ve now managed to shoot down 4 green pipes. So far I’ve only managed to get 4 different items plus the wall paper.
I’ve noticed that the Mario items are carried by white balloons. The other colours contain random ordinary fir nature.

I got a fire flower from one of the balloons, and I heard that it is common to get Mario items in presents. I heard they are in purple balloons.
