It would all depend on the manner of the death, AssassinVolke.  Not all deaths are permitted.  As for why one and not the other to any degree, I can't actually answer that.  Just recommend how to avoid the pitfalls so that you won't get yourself in trouble.

Violent content of any kind is not permitted. If the death resulted from a violent act chances are the thread would be locked due to the violence.

I do think the No Romance is a little bit extreme, I can understand that if it was aloud it could get out of hand but I think that death and violence is worse.
If Romance was alound of course it would have to be kept on a low but if it was something like disney style romance is that bad?
Because I grew up watching disney movies and having fairtales read to me.
And in most fairy tales there is romance but nothing to extreme.
So in fan fic's I think that it should be aloud!

Okay the no romance rule isn't really all that bad. I mean come on, do you really NEED romance to write a good story? If the answer to that question is yes, then maybe you should rethink the forum you want to post that fic on. Romance does not make a fic better, nor is it needed for a fic to be successful. Plenty of fics here are successful and they all follow the rules.

Besides, do we really want to expose children to romance? Yes, they may be exposed to it in their everyday life. However, there's always that exception, that innocent little child that does not want to be exposed to such material. It'd be betraying the trust of the parents, who allow their kids to use the site, to introduce their kids to such content. It eliminates the FAMILY FRIENDLY environment that ACC strives to achieve.

Furthermore(I sound like I'm writing an essay...), there is no fine line as to what "too much" romance is. To one person, too much romance could be a simple crush on another person. Everyone's different, and in order to meet the opinions of the innocent young children, ACC has adopted a zero tolerance policy, therefore ensuring that no one is exposed to romance.

And if you're going to question the rules, at least TRY to make your posts make sense.

Nothing sexual or rude would be alound to be posted for sure but inoccent fairy tale love that's not bad.
And yes I think a good fan fic needs a bit of everything all the best books do!

Bonbons, the books you are talking about are published books.  They are not random fan fics docked on a gaming website.  Books of that caliber are in print and, as a result, have a no rules base.  ACC is not a publisher: it is a gaming website meant to entertain those from 7 to 70, whatever.  While a published books needs most (but most certainly not all) of the criteria which you seek, ACC is more personalized and targets specific parameters.  Romance is not one of those parameters.  If you are in need of a good romance story, then this website is not the place for you.

But I whole heartedly disagree with you in regards that, for a fan fic to be viable, it needs romance, action, adventure, comedy, horror, tragedy.  That simply isn't so.  An author, a good author, can focus in one just 1 of those traits and make a sound, plausible fan fic.  Also, in regards to you singling Twilight out, while that published books does have romance in it, many people still fail to find it interesting.  So perhaps they thought romance destroyed the entire plot.  But ACC is not the forum in which to argue the success or fail of that series.

You people are missing the point, I think. It isn't just the mere CONCEPT of romance that's banned. If a part of the story is ABOUT romance- how a couple fell in love, dating, flirting, etc... that's not allowed on this site. Because not only does Animal Crossing have VERY little to do with romance of any form, but endorsing romantic relationships on ANY kind of internet forum often leads to bad things, whether the people in question are frequently exposed to it IRL or not.

And i mean, this all depends on what fanfic we're talking about, people. I suggest you avoid romance in fanfics, but if it pops up every now and then, just let the mods decide what they see as acceptable.

It isn't. Violence isn't allowed either, with the slight exception of cartoony slapstick violence that's typically allowed in anything. (i.e. you probably won't get reported for pretending to fire a laser, comedic slapping, swinging a cartoony sledgehammer, etc.)
