Welcome to the Third Thread of the
Original Lyric Contest! The Team and I are so happy that you have made this fun contest so exciting that it continues into this thread. For those of you just joining us –
WELCOME! We are so glad that you found us, heard about us, or stumbled onto our thread.
If this is your first time here, I want to review some of the “ground rules”. These rules should give you all a heads up on how to play and what to expect. If you’ve been playing with us in the past, we thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you more.
Ground Rules:
1. Any contest question not posted by a Team Member will
not be considered a legitimate question for prizes. Players wishing to submit lyrics for future questions must Private Thread (PT) the Original Poster (OP).
2. First correct post that matches our answer
100% is the winner and will be awarded a (1) point.
3. Answers posting complete songs will be disqualified for that round.
4. If there is no 100% match, we will accept the partial guess
only if the song title matches what we show as the correct answer
and the artist can be verified.
5. A round continues until an eligible player with five (5) points is identified.
6. Once a prize winner is identified (by total valid points) and announced, all players’ totals will be reset to zero (0) and the game begins again with a new round.
7. Edited posts are
not eligible to win.
8. Contestants can post a second answer
no earlier than 10 minutes following their original answer. If the follow up answer is posted prior to the 10 minute deadline, the post is invalid and their next guess is not eligible for another 10 minutes.
9. No single player can win two (2) rounds in a row. If a previous round winner plays and answers correctly, the snippet point will be awarded to the
first eligible answer.
10. No links to websites with lyrics are allowed to be posted or discussed in this thread
11. GC prizes are awarded through the ACC Trading Post and WW prizes are awarded through WiFi. A Team Member
must be invited to the winner’s town to deliver the prize; winners will
not have access to the Team Members' towns.
All ACC FCR rules apply! On Winning:1 correct, eligible answer = 1 point
5 points = 1 Round Win
1 Round Win = Prizes (vary based on AC game play)
NAME THAT LYRICThis is a special “in-game” contest that will be run periodically. The premise of this contest is as follows:
Step 1.I provide you with a series of artist clues as to whom the artist of our featured song is.
Step 2.After thinking about the clues, you reach a decision as to who you believe the artist is.
Step 3.Following the artist clue post, players begin to post, saying that they can NAME THAT LYRIC in 6 words - or less.
Post Example:"I can name that lyric in 6 words!"
Next Post Example:"I can name that lyric in 5 words!!"
Next Post Example:"Well, I can name that lyric in 3 words!"
Step 4.Once a player posts that they can NAME THAT LYRIC in 1 word, or another player challenges a specific player to NAME THAT LYRIC, it is "Game On."
Step 5.Once 1 player is identified (see conditions of Step 4), a lyrical snippet is provided based on the # of words the player posted they can NAME THAT LYRIC in.
Step 6.Only the 1 player is eligible to guess the lyric's title AND artist.
Spelling Counts! The title and artist must match 100% to our answer in order to be accepted.
Step 7.If the player guesses correctly - they win a prize based on the # of words the lyric was named in.
Step 8.If the player guesses incorrectly, the next closest bid gets to play and another word is added to the lyric.
Step 9.If the alternate player guesses correctly, they win the prize based on the # of words they answered the lyric with.
Step 10.If the alternate player guesses wrong, the clue is given to the general audience, with all 6 words provided. The player guessing correctly (first 2 players are disqualified from playing) wins the automatic standard prize.
All winners from prior rounds are eligible to play and win
The winner of this contest is still eligible to play and win the current round.
