I think the staff could lighten up abit. I'm actually a little scared of talking to an admin. It feels like they are robots. sometime ACC seems like a place where people are scared and controled by a robot. Alot of staff only come on once every week or so.
If i was to picture ACC being really nice It would be: Rainbow coloured background Staff not using C.A.P messges People not reporting people to become a scout for popularity Friendly services No shouting Staff helping, not just making a user feel terrible by getting reported and banned. More smile emotions to make people feel more happy
But that's IMO. think what you want. This is just how I feel.
Well, I don't like all these threads about how ACC is losing the community "feel or atmosphere". If you wanna help ACC, try going out and doing something, instead of just ranting about it in a thread not everyone, especially the spammers, will read. It is good to discuss this problem, but everyone is just either agreeing or disagreeing with other members on this thread. ACC is a great place, probably 10x better than any forum I have been a member of. IMO, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The Admins are adults, remember, so they act more mature than most of the members (not saying anyone is immature) because they are older, same with the Moderators. The OT board is only one part of ACC. I once said in another thread, it's like a little toddler playing with a toy in a bathtub, if the toy goes down the drain, it's not going to take the whole kid with it. Just like the OT board board will not take ACC down the tubs with it.
I just don't get it. Everyone seems to think it's losing it's community aspect, or "falling apart". But no one will suggest anything to fix it. My idea? We begin suggesting things that would help the site. Rather than dismissing them immediately, users (including the staff) can try to help shape an idea into something usable on the site. Wouldn't this be more productive than ranting here?
Friends are a lot like a Slinky: They're not good for anything,
but you can't help but smile when one falls down the stairs.
I just read much of this thread, and I agree about a lot of things.
One, is the sudden notifactations. I think that we should have a chance to fix our mistake before we get a point. (ie: I put a swear word abbreviation in my profile and got a point for it right away, without being allowed to fix it)
Another, is that I'm kind of almost scared of the site staff. They don't feel like fellow users, they feel like the government or police or something.
