Internet Explorer is the most unsafe web browser EVER
I use Mozilla Firefox, which is much safer. People should use that instead.

My computer randomly stops working but I can still move the mouse.
It just freezes everything but the mouse....

Yeah ,.... Theres also a virus infecting some people msn accounts too its tries to spread by sending links with a wink to people on thier msn list.. It was called the Trojan Horse Virus... I made a thread about it if you like to know what it is

Once again, people who DO NOT use IE are not to worry.

As a precaution, I would probably virus scan your computer and turn off ActiveX controls if you are THAT scared. Oh, and disbale hyperlinks, just in case you get that...impulse...to touch...the tab...

It goes to show that people NEED mozilla. And I like mozilla because you can have different skins on it.

But if the majority people use Firefox, people will find loopholes in it and will create viruses!

Anyway, I found two files with AVG on my Grandma's computer:
kernel32.dll = Changed!
shell32 = Changed!

They aren't threats, though.

It didn't affect me, and I was using Internet Explorer. I also Tried it on Firefox, and that did nothing, but whenI pressed the Markup link, it re-directed me to the Home Page.

This specific browser is called a worm, and worms generally infect a computer, and reproduce themselves over e-mail.

This one will infect your PC, and use outlook to send itself. IE is the only browser to use Active X, just a reason NOT to use it. It is very bad with standards, and IE 8 is BARELY passing Acid2, a test several years old!

Wow, this morning, my dad told me I shouldn't use Internet Explorer because it's got a lot of junk in it. So I said "Ok, today, I'll see the difference of Internet Explorer and Firefox. If Internet Explorer is better, I'm going to use it. If Firefox is better, I'll use that instead." Sort of weird that it's a coincidence. XP

Anyway, what does the worm do to your computer?

It only affects Internet Explorer 6 or below, or one not running Windows Vista.
I wanna know if this affects McAfee, because I use it and while the worm may be tranquil now, I want to know if it is. I don't want any future reoccurances.

Get AVG, and see if it's gone.

I do believe this worm doesn't do anything except affect Word.

It will infect every clean file opened and created.

What does infecting do? It just is there...

It doesn't do anything, but can get in the registry and system files. It will go through all webpages, look for mailto: links, and will send itself to those emails. It will then go on to infect Word, and it just repeats over and over and over.

Where's the point in that then?

It might have a trigger that can be activated through the web. I'm not really sure, but you never know.
