The Off Topic Board was created in order to give the forums some diversity. Here you may talk about anything that is not related to Animal Crossing. As the majority of the site members are young, we ask you to keep all content appropriate for all ages. As always, keep the
Site Rules in mind before creating a thread/post.
Please note that the Off Topic board is intended for meaningful discussions about specific subjects. Threads that do not encourage discussion will be locked. Examples of such threads can be, but are not limited to:
- What is on your copy&paste?
- Type something with your elbows
- Rate the signature/profile/whatever above you
- What is your favourite color
The above types of threads belong on the Forum Games board
In addition to the above, please refrain from creating any of the following topics:
1. Advertisement threads - Advertisement threads are threads where you try to bring publicity to a particular thread/service, or another website. If you would like to promote a website or thread, etc. do not create a public or private thread for that purpose. Please limit all advertisements to your signature.
2. Advice threads - Advice threads are similar to general help threads. If you would like to offer help to a member and/or ask for advice from other members, do so within a private thread (PT).
3. Chat threads - Chat threads are threads where there is usually no topic to begin with; soley created for the purpose of communication with other members but with no purpose. Please have a specific topic in mind before creating a new thread. If you would like a chat thread, we ask that you keep them in private threads (PTs).
4. Polls/Surveys - If you would like to conduct a poll/survey that is not related to Animal Crossing, please do so within your profile or private threads (PTs).
5. Petitions - Petitions are threads that ask members to post their name in support of a specific cause. These threads do not encourage discussion and more often than not, lead to problems. If changes can be made to ACC, they are discussed on the Site Suggestions board.
6. Role-Playing threads (commonly referred to as RPGs) - Role-Playing threads are forum games which you play the role of a particular character by using descriptive text/dialogue. These threads are not allowed as most contain violent content which may lead to trolling upon members. We are aware that not all role-playing games do not contain violence; however, there is no way predict if an RPG will contain such content beforehand.
7. Service/Club/Shop threads - Service/Shop threads are simply clubs that are not related to Animal Crossing or don't offer Animal Crossing (in-game) related services. Examples of such threads are character drawing threads and services offering keyboard art. If you would like to run a service, we ask that you do so within your profile and/or private threads (PT).
8. "What Are You Wearing?" threads - These threads discuss personal information which can easily lead to inappropriate comments. Please remember that the majority of our members are young and that this is the internet. If you would like others to see what sort of apparel you wear then feel free to use your picture section in your profile to post that.
9. Please do not post personal information on the boards such as email addresses, IMs, phone numbers, personal photos or street addresses. If you want to let others know your IM or email, please direct them to view your profile.
Recently there have been a few threads created and locked due to the posting of personal photos. The public threads are searchable and can be accessed through external search engines. This is one of the reasons why we do not permit the posting of personal information on the boards. There is a section within profiles to post a photo. This area is only viewable by ACC members. Please use this area to post picture links but keep in mind that the regular site rules still apply.
* Failure to abide by these rules will result in the closure of your thread.
