I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times already, but I really can't find the answer, so here goes:
Can I visit a friend's town online even if they're NOT online? Can I download a gamer's friend code, then, for instance, go online and visit their town, drop off a note (while they're offline) or something? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Moocow: mNot really just make sure its either cable or DSL... If you are on dial-up.. it wont work... Its best to get a wireless router although some go for the USB thingy...

I have a wireless router and on NintendoWi-Fi.com my router is mentioned. When I get Animal Crossing all I have to do is put the game in and play right? Or do I have to have a USB connector?

You should just be able to play. The nintendo Wifi adaptor is only for people who do not have a wireless router or access point. Just to let you know my router isn't mentioned at all and it's fine. Don't go on what nintendo have have specified, they do not have the time or money to test every single router or access point that you can buy.
Just to clear up something that was said a few posts earlier:
Inventor stated that the game works wirelessly if you use Windows XP. That is true only if you are trying to use the wi-fi USB cable; it isn't supporting Macintosh at this time (shame on Nintendo for that; it's an oversight they should correct soon). However, if you have a wi-fi capable wireless router and a broadband connection (cable or DSL), then ACWW will work fine, regardless of what computer system you use, whether it is the superior Mac OS or the inferior Windoze.

In addition to my previous post, I meant to show the link of where a LOT of answers are found. Read the FAQ's on the tech support link of Nintendo's Wifi site, or just click this:
Your router broadcasts the signal. The only thing that needs to be on is the Router, and your DS.
You don't necessarily have to be in the same room, but It depends on your router. I can reach all ends or my house without a problem. I have also heard that the USB WiFi connector has just about the same range.

Question: I think I have a router in my kitchen, but I want to know if it will work with my games or not. When I get a DS and AC:WW, can I check if it's compatable somehow? People have been talking about a way to check by using your games. Can someone explain it to me, please?

Thanks, but that's not exactly what I meant. Without checking anything with my router, there's supposed to be a way I can check it with my game, right?
