Just wanted to say I didn't get to make my call today, but will surely make it tomorrow.

It was just one of those days, it all started with a flat tire and 18 degrees.

Today I called Nintendo, and was on the phone from 11am til 1pm and he was still trying to switch me over to the Netgear. However at 1:15 I had to hang up because I needed to drop my niece to the airport. So tomorrow I will start calling at 9am just to make sure I have enough time. Hope to get it all done tomorrow.

Still no luck with Nintendo they did recommend a different router/modem from Verizon. I've yet to call them, but will in a little while need to take a breather after the Nintendo call.

The modem they told me to ask for from Verizon is Actiontec gt704wgb with or without a router and that should work.

Ok I called Verizon and they did not send me another router/modem. However they did turn off the router part of their westell 7500. I still have the error of 80430 which I expected to have. The only thing I have to do now is call Nintendo and have them do the port forwarding on the Netgear router. So hopefully tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Yes I've called Nintendo time after time still no luck yet. Spoke with Netgear today, but wasn't able to add the port forwarding from 1 thru 65534. Netgear is asking me for a specific port #, however I don't have one. Nintendo is still saying 1 -65534. Does anyone have a netgear and know what port they used? It can even be a range of ports just not as many as Nintendo is saying.

Unfortunately I don't know of any specific ports. I only know of the 1 to 65534 that Nintendo suggests.

Ok thanks, Netgear was really nice and asked me to get the ports and they would call me tomorrow at 3pm to help me finish setting up. I guess I will try Nintendo again tomorrow morning to see if anyone knows a specific port. Lol I tried twice today.

Still no luck could not get a specific port from Nintendo. I have been changing the ports myself to see if the error code would change so far still have the error code. Since the ports are 1-65534 I've tried 6000 thru 61,000 so far and 300 thru 800.

Can you believe that I actually had a visitor. Just one, but what a gr8888 feeling it was to see the word communicating when I was talking to Mable. My heart skipped a beat!! Only thing is no one else has been able to get thru since. I think its because even tho my gate is open on my side it does not show open on their side when they are looking for gates hmmm.

I must say tho that I held the person hostage for as long as possible lol!!

It could be the fact that you might have security for your connection that some people may have trouble with. I've seen it happen both for ACWW and ACCF. Glad to hear you got to play with someone though!

Ok so everything is still not perfect as far as the gate issue. The gate only appears to open for about 10 to 12 mins on their side, but of course its open on my side. In other words I see it as open and they don't see it open at all really weird.

But I'm just so happy that people can get in at all. So as long as they get in by the 12 mins or so they're in. I'm just to afraid to change anything else.  I never did get to add all the ports, but the ports I picked must have been the lucky #'s. After all I went thru so many different port #s because my Netgear wouldn't allow me to put 1-65534.

Just would like to hear your take on the gate issue. Do you think I should call Nintendo back again and risk loosing my visitors in hopes of fixing the gate problem. Sometimes I'm lucky and people pop in as soon as I open. However after about 10 mins of the gate no longer appears open on their side. Has anyone else complained about a gate issue. I'm open for to whatever you might suggest.

From my experience, the gate issues you have been referring to have always been an issue with somebody on the other end or Nintendo itself.

Thanks for the gate information. I guess I'll have to settle, its better then not being able to get visitors at all. I will just have to post the exact time I'm going to open.

Hi-- I recently started having issues with wifi on the wii for ACCF. I have a netgear router wdn4000. I checked to see if I can generate a WEP key but there isn't an option to do that. I can only generate a wpa or wpa2.... Please advise....

Could you please elaborate a bit more on your issue there? What happens when you try to connect? Do you receive an error code at all?

My apologies... I normally don't get an error code just a message just says can't connect to the internet. So i go to the wii settings & i test the connection and it tells me that it was successful. Today I got a 20100 error code. This came about because my sister said she was trying to send a friend of hers some stuff via mail & the pelicans have been telling her that the mail is at capacity. I figured it was a connection issue so I asked her to open her gate to see if she can visit her friend & that's when then "unable to connect to the Internet" message shows up & that I should check settings.

Are able to go on WiFi for other games or applications?

I only use the wifi for ACCF game play but I have been able to use the Nintendo channels on my wii with no problems. I like looking at what games are in development. It just seems to be ACCF wifi access that's giving me problems. & its only been recently.

Has WiFi on ACCF worked for you in the past? It may be a temporary error, as 20100 is usually associated with a temporary error on Nintendo's end.

Yes it has. This issue started sometime last week. I was just concerned & thought I should look into it as it hasn't happened before & it was odd because the wifi was affected but it wasn't a problem on the wii settings. My search for a solution says that it is because of the router & wep key & when I check the router I can't generate a wep key only a wpa & wpa2 key so I was getting a bit worried that the wifi feature would be gone & I find that the wifi feature for ACCF makes it a great game.

If this doesn't solve itself in a few days/ week I'll see what Nintendo has to say. I'm hoping this is temporary. Thanks for trying to help. It's much appreciated.

Hello! Is there anyone around that can help me with a wifi problem??

I have a wii and have wifi'd with 3 friends. We've all gone in and out of each other's towns, no problems.

I got a second wii. Got another wireless adapter.  Started a new town.  2 of the friends can come into my town, the 3rd cant, she gets Error Code: 86420.   I tried going from the new town into her town and I could go into her town, but she can't come in. (also I tried coming into the new town with my old town's characters, and it worked)

Any ideas who's router this is and what we can do about it? We are leary of changing setings because   1) we're not that computer savvy!!   2) so much of the interactions between the people and the towns work, we don't want to mess that up!

We don't want to turn off the firewalls to our routers...

What do you mean by you "got another wireless adapter"? Also are your settings on the new Wii exactly the same as the old Wii?

Well, we wanted both towns to be able to wifi, so we got another adapter for the 2nd wii.

No, the settings aren't exactly the same. They were, but when we tried to have both towns online at the same time, they would knock each other off. So we let it do auto select for the settings on the 2nd wii, then we could have both wii's online at the same time.
